CERTIFICATE III IN AGED CARE (CHC30212)

Course Aim and Delivery Arrangements

Certificate III in Aged Care is aimed at those wishing to provide care for the aged population. Workers in this occupational group work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual’s personal care and/or other activities of living. These workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.
This course will run for the duration of terms 3 and 4, 2013. Limited fully funded places ($99 admin fee payable) are available for mature age, job seekers and job seekers for whom English is a second language. Participants will be provided with an appropriate text book and detailed handouts to complement learning across all units. The course will run three days per week (Tues to Thurs) between the hours of 9am and 3pm - work experience is included in the course. Please note work experience hours will differ from regular course hours.

Course Structure

The Certificate III in Aged Care is issued upon successful assessment of all units of competency listed below. These are from the Community Services training package, national qualification code CHC30212. Certificate III in Aged Care is aimed at those wishing to provide care for the aged population. Please note that a valid “National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) will be required to attend work placement in an aged care facility.
