FRENCH: Beginners Stage 1

Prerequisites: None

Course Outline

This course is for students with little or no knowledge of French. Based on a conversational, practical approach dealing with everyday situations, it is ideal if you are intending to travel for business or leisure or if you simply wish to enjoy the French language.

French culture and relevant grammar will also be covered.  Topics may include the following, rudimentary conversations eg.  introducing yourself greetings etc.. Learning the difference between the formal and familiar forms of expression in the French language.  How to tell the time, numbers etc  How to ask basic questions such as where is the hotel/cafe, how much is that, etc. The emphasis will also be on the correct pronunciation and intonation.

Some discussions will also be held about contempory issues and social customs pertinent to living, working and travelling in France at the moment.
