Narrabeen Annex Refurbishment
The College successfully tendered for funding under the Australian Government's Teaching And Learning Capital Fund - Investing in Community Education and Training. The purpose of the funding is a much needed refurbishment of the College Annex located at 1525 Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen.
The purpose-specific refurbishment of the facility will enable the College to:
- Provide improved access and facility support to students with a disability
- Expansion of aged care training on the Northern Beaches and the lower North Shore regions of Sydney
- Build on its established links with Employment Service Providers to meet the increasing demand for retraining opportunities for the unemployed
- Improve support for government funded programs e.g. Productivity Places Program
- Upgrade of computer facilities necessary for the delivery of accredited vocational training
- Improve facility support for literacy and numeracy training to provide a pathway into or support training within the VET system (e.g. aged care qualifications)
- Expand its delivery in areas of Information Technology, Business Services and Training and Assessment
- Support key areas of need, specifically identified in NSW Department of Education and Training’s Strategic Plan for Vocational Education and Training 2008-2010 such as Community and Business Services
- Enable flexible training delivery using recognition of prior learning, course work, mixed pathways and mutual recognition
- Provide increased opportunities to partner with local high schools for training in the VET in Schools program
The refurbishment project commenced in October. The Annex has now reopened with the delivery of Certificate III in Aged Care and Certificate IV in Community Services Work courses already underway. The refurbishment is now complete. Check our progress here:
