Certificate IV in Aged Care CHC40108
This course provides students with the practical skills to plan, develop, implement and monitor programs and services for older people. Students learn to assess the needs of older people and plan and conduct group and recreation programs for older people. They also learn how to monitor services, implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures and organise an effective work environment.
Occupational titles may include: Accommodation support worker; Assistant hostel supervisor; Care supervisor; Care team leader; Day activity worker; Hostel supervisor; Personal care worker; Program coordinator—social programs; Support worker; Case manager.
Course Modules:
The Certificate IV in Aged Care consists of 15 units of competency—11 core units and 4 electives. The choice of elective units will be discussed at the first class.

Course Prerequisite
Certificate III in Aged Care; Certificate III in Home & Community Care or equivalent workplace skills and experience. If you are currently employed (casually, part time or full time) in the aged care/community care industry, government funding of $1000 may be available to support your training costs. To be eligible to receive an incentive payment, you must meet all of the following criteria: If not eligible for the government incentive payment, the course cost can by paid by 3 instalments.
